From the moment you step inside, you’re enveloped in a warm and inviting atmosphere, enhanced by meticulous decor that reflects the rich culture of Cantonese dining. The restaurant prides itself on providing a clean and comfortable space, making it an ideal setting for anything from casual meals with family to celebratory dinners.
One of the highlights of West Villa is undoubtedly its dim sum. Patrons rave about the quality and taste, with many declaring it among the best in the city. A visit here would be incomplete without trying the renowned yinyang rice, a flavorful symphony of ingredients that perfectly captures the essence of Cantonese cooking. Customers have lauded various dishes, with the fried noodles and rice standing out for their exceptional taste and high-quality ingredients.
Reviews from diners like Alex Luk highlight the scrumptious offerings, while others, such as Gina "Chef", commend their authentic approach to traditional recipes. The roast pigeon is particularly noteworthy, as it exemplifies the chef's skill in balancing flavors without overwhelming the dish. The crispy exterior paired with tender meat makes for a memorable culinary experience, though some have noted that it could benefit from a touch more seasoning.
West Villa Restaurant also showcases a diverse menu, featuring dishes like claypot crab meat with brinjal and pork ribs, which have been praised for their exquisite taste and presentation. Each dish is crafted with attention to detail, ensuring that flavors are well-balanced and that meals are pleasing to both the palate and the eye.
While the prices lean towards the higher end, many attendees assert that the quality of the food justifies the cost. The attentive service and well-curated selection of Chinese dishes leave little room for disappointment. Even on busy nights, like Valentine's Day, guests can expect a delightful experience.
In a city known for its dining scene, West Villa Restaurant stands out not only for its exquisite food but also for its commitment to customer satisfaction. If you find yourself in the Taikoo area, this restaurant promises not just a meal, but a genuine journey through the rich tapestry of Cantonese flavors.
“ This is one of my favorite Cantonese dim-sum restaurants in Hong Kong. The place is clean and comfortable. Quality of the food is very good and everything is scrumptious. Apart from the dim-sum, their fried rice and noodles are also very tasty. I recommend the yin-yang rice particularly. ”
“ Had dinner at West Villa. Ordered their soup of the day, roast pigeon, pork ribs and claypot crab meat with brinjal. Food was delicious. I don’t feel thirsty the following day. An authentic place that serves traditional cuisine. The roast pigeon was the best I have tried so far. As the pigeon is small, it’s not easy to roast it well enough to not have any sides burnt. The pork was tasty and each pieces has some soft bone to It. It was well seasoned so don’t need a lot of sauce to go with it. We thought it was too big a portion for 2 of us but finished the whole plate nevertheless. Something was amiss for the claypot brinjal with crab meat. Maybe it was the last dish that was served so it pale in comparison to the earlier dishes. Overall a pleasant experience. Will definitely come back for the roast pigeon soon. ”
“ 4/5 Old Chinese restaurant still popular now for a recent, their food is good. Fish paste stuff eggplant, I usually don’t like this type of fish, but this paste is good! Fish pot, crispy outside, tender juicy fish, flavour all cook into the Center, not greasy at all, even the ginger and scallion is good cos the wok fried . Pigeon little dry n not marinaded enough. Soup dumplings not bad. The pomelo skin is good as well. The soup is a must try here! ”
“ A typical upper scale Cantonese restaurant. Been at this Taikoo Shing City Plaza new phase since day one I believe. The fried noodles were very good with high quality ingredients and without being over cooked. ”
“ This is in City Plaza in Taikoo. Food is pretty good but pricey. Two seniors for lunch was HK$440 and we didn’t want to leave a tip because service was below par. ”
